AboutAKA: Why is this site on the web? The Past: a little of my web designing history... I have been web designing for almost two years now. I first picked up my interest for creating websites when I was taking computer courses at school. The first course I took focused mainly on learning how to operate Microsoft Office programs, such as Word, Excel, etc. Near the end of the course, however, my computer teacher decided to introduce to us some html knowledge, and thus I was opened to the world of web designing. As I grew more interested in creating websites, I decided to take a course that was focused just on web designing. The course improved my html skills greatly and I was introduced to programs such as Dreamweaver and Fireworks. After the completion of the course, I decided that I want a website of my own, not just to use the skills I have just learned, but also to spread my interests and provide a service to the online community. After much inspirations from anime fan sites such as Lelola and Suta-Raito, I created my very first website, Hikari-Tenshi AnimeShrine, also known as HTAS. It was then I first started to create my own graphics, as opposed to before I mainly used already made graphics by others on Google. I don't know much about hosting yet, so HTAS was, and still is hosted on Geocities. Aside from the ads, Geocities was a pretty good free-hosting place and uploading files was pretty easily done. By then I was a much more experienced web designer and I started to get more experienced in graphics editing after familiarizing myself with Photoshop. I also encountered great graphics sites such as Celestial-Star (which I am currently a member in), Komet Tails Designs, and Magitek Designs. They provided much help and inspirations with their great graphics and tutorials. I began to create premade layouts and graphics and post them on HTAS for people to use. But HTAS was more of a fan site than a graphics site and I wanted to keep it that way, so after much thought I decided to open my own separate graphics site. I am always doing that which I cannot do in order that I may learn how to do it The Present: The site as it is now... Currently, Klandestine serves as my designs/graphics portfolio. Here is where I display all the digital works I have created and allows visitors to download them for personal use if desired. The Future: Where the site will be heading toward... Truth be told, I haven't really given much thought as to where Klandestine will be headed toward in near the future. I have no plans making the site into a commercial design site partly because I believe in designing for enjoyment and charging people for my work seems to go against that goal, and also partly because I believe I am not good enough yet in designing to be charging people for my work anyways XD. Some thoughts I have given about the site include possibly a domain for Klandestine, making the site more personal (perhaps a blog/design site?), and adding more sections.
Why name the site Klandestine? Current Site Statistics:
